A debt we couldn’t pay..
So today I was at McDonalds for lunch. I kind of had a craving some something quick, cheap, and unhealthy..so McDonalds was a perfect choice! I had placed my order, paid, and was standing to the side of the register waiting for my order to be completed. Behind me was a teenage guy around 16 or so. He had on a big winter coat, his back pack, and iPod, and came up to place his order. As he went to pay for his food, he hunted in his wallet, his backpack, his pockets, for money. He realized that he had lost ...
Your Love Never Fails
It's been quite some time since I've been able to blog about anything, or anywhere. Totally my bad. But here I am. Sitting in my messy office at the church, sticky notes everywhere reminding me of all the things I need to do, and should have done yesterday. It leaves you feeling a little overwhelmed. Sometimes in the busyness and craziness of life, we overload ourselves, carry burdens that we shouldn't, and can become a little discouraged. We've all been there. I know speaking for myself, its been an overwhelming couple weeks at the church. It can often leave you feeling ...

Baptism Anyone?
03/03/10
This week at C4 the baptism tank is set up and ready to go for someone who is publicly committing their life to Christ…awesome! That baptism is happening in one of the morning services but the water will still be ready to go at night for our 6:06 C4 Awakening service.
Perhaps this is your chance to make that step of obedience yourself. Talk to myself (Gary), Josh McCabe, or any other pastoral staff here at C4 and we’d love to help you out if that’s the case. Even if it’s last minute on Sunday night, we’ll be ready if you are.

“Bondage Breaker”
02/01/10

What a great night we had last night at C4 Awakening! One of the things we discussed when planning this service was how the book “The Bondage Breaker” by Neil T. Anderson was so applicable to Jon’s message. I personally have found this to be a helpful tool in my own journey with God and would recommend you check it out. It’s not a replacement for the Bible by any means, but talks a lot about the lies we believe and then points us to the truth found in Scripture of who we are in Christ. Highly worth your while. I’ve pasted both the Amazon and Chapters/Indigo links to it below. It’s only $14 and can be in your hands soon with a few clicks right now.
Hope you have an encouraging week seeking after Jesus and walking with him.

Small Groups Video
01/28/10
Hey Everyone, it’s Gary here.
If you’ve been around our services lately you know we’ve talked a lot about small groups. We strongly believe that community is needed in the church and that small groups are a fantastic way to build community. Below is a video we showed last week of Pastor Grant Shenker explaining just what small groups are. Take a look and consider taking the challenge to sign up / start a group if you’re not in one already.
We hope to see you at 6:06pm on Sundays when we gather to worship, but we also hope you’ll do more than that and get connected with others in a smaller setting.
PS – Meet for prayer at 5:30pm this Sunday in the auditorium. Come prepare yourself to worship…you’ll be amazed at how things go when you’re ready for God to work.
Terrible announcement video
01/04/10
Hey everyone.
So we were back at it again last night at C4awakening at its fullest! I guess we never took a break, but we had our prayer focus night last week which was out of the usual format.
For all of you who were there, Dave Adams brought it last night! What a great night of worship and teaching we had. If you missed out, don’t worry! We want to see you there next Sunday, January 10th. Its like, Jan 10/10. Kinda awesome.
Ps. its weird that we’re in 2010… really weird. The 90’s still feel so not long ago. Saved By The Bell, tie die shirts, boy bands….wow. Those were the days.
But hey! check out the announcement video from last night. Its terrible… really… its actually brutally bad.
Prayer night recap!
12/30/09
Hey everyone! Its Josh here.
Thanks to all of you that came out to the prayer night this past Sunday. It was such an amazing time of just waiting on God, praying for His will to be done, and for lives to be changed.
Since Sunday night, I’ve been stuck in bed battling the flu, which hasn’t been fun at all. I’ve had all the time in the world to play xbox and watch seasons of 24 on DVD, but been way to sick to enjoy even that.
One of the prayer issues I challenged us on was praying for prodigals. Luke chapter 15 shares some great parables about how much the lost mean to the Father. Take some time to read Luke 15 this week, as we continue to pray for the lost to return home!
We’ll see you all again this Sunday night (Jan 3rd) at 6:06pm!
Peace out.. big ups!
Exposed to Light
12/14/09
Well, we’ve finished our series on the book of James and what a series it was! Last night was a fantastic time together as many people came forward for prayer, many people sang out praises to God, and we were inspired again through Scripture. There has been much celebration here at C4, but there has also been significant challenge. You may or may not see it yourself, but I can tell you from a leadership standpoint that there are a lot of tough issues in people’s lives coming to light. People are confessing sin, sharing what they’re going through with others, and asking for help. This is hard to do, but it’s amazing! As we heard from James 5:16, let’s continue to confess our sins to each other and pray for each other. Life doesn’t stop now that Sunday is done and we need to build each other up as the body of Christ.
If you’re reading this, I’d encourage you to read the following passages this week:
They follow the theme of living in God’s light and it would be cool to have us all reading and praying through the same thing.
Lord, please continue to do your work in us.
Some thoughts from Josh.. “My Heart is Heavy”
12/07/09
My Heart is Heavy…
I can think of times in my life where I’ve felt really down. Kind of like I’ve got nothing exciting going on, and that Im really just a big nobody, living a daily life of no purpose. Maybe those were the thoughts going on in my head, but none could compare to the feeling in my heart.
Burdened. Broken. Hurt. Heavy.
You know, I sometimes also wonder. How does God let us know we’re not where he wants us?
Let me tell you a short story. One day, I was feeling quite tired, and it was likely a result of staying up late the night before. That morning I had to work, and I REALLY didn’t feel like it. I decided that I would call in sick. My Dad knowing that I wasn’t really sick and that I had been up late the night before expressed his opinion that I shouldn’t call in sick, and I should suck it up and learn to get more rest, as work is part of life. Needless to say, I called in sick, and when my Dad talked to me later about calling in sick ( I work for my Dad’s company part time by the way), I knew he was disappointed, and after all was said and done I felt pretty bummed out.
I felt burdened and like things just weren’t right between my Father and I. I felt heavy inside, and like I didn’t know exactly what it was that was driving me to this feeling Even though things were really fine, and he wasn’t mad at me, just a little disappointed. He never told me directly NOT to call in sick, but made it clear he recommended against it, as it would be dishonest. Though I didn’t commit some unspeakable sin, I had gone against what my Dad knew was best for me, and for my life, and decided to make my own plans, and when I did that, I was left with that heavy feeling..
I think God speaks to us very much in the same way. God can’t really just tap us on the shoulder and be like “Yo buddy! What are you doing?!?” But I think that when we begin to walk out of step with God’s plan, and his purpose, we begin to feel lost, burdened, heavy. God’s spiritual conviction is His way of letting us know we’re going the wrong way and we need to examine some things in our lives that are leading us away from God. Away from the place of freedom and true love.
In these times we really need to take these issues to prayer, and begin to seek direction to get on the RIGHT path. When we begin to walk in step with God’s plan, we show it, from the inside out.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
